Sammamish, WA is America’s Friendliest Town!

Recently, Forbes.com and Nextdoor.com (a San Francisco, Calif.-based social network for neighborhoods) partnered up to assess 500 small metro areas with populations between 5,500 and 150,000 to determine America’s Friendliest Towns.
As it turns out, our very own Sammamish, Washington has topped the list!  What other towns made the cut? And which of these towns have you had the pleasure of visiting? Here’s the list:

4.  Seal Beach, CA
5.  Westerville, OH
6.  Frisco, TX
7.  Alpharetta, GA
8.  Downers Grove, IL
9.  Huntington Woods, MI

13. Hopkins, MN
14. Apopka, FL
15. Queen Creek, AZ

Towns were ranked based on four data points: 1) Percentage of owner-occupied homes (studies have shown a direct correlation between homeownership and neighborhood stability), 2) crime rate, 3) charitable giving, and 4) percentage of college graduates (research has found that college-educated folks typically display more civic engagement, with higher rates of voting and volunteering).
